Book Journal Entry // Puck Around and Find Out by Samantha Barrett

I first found Samantha Barrett when she was gearing up to release the spinoff series to her Murdock Mafia series. It was the next generation. I’m a sucker for a great multi-generational book universe. I was able to get all the copies of that mafia series sent to me along with the ARC for the new spinoff. I’ve been a fan ever since and have now read almost everything I think from Samantha. These days I’m on her official ARC team so I’m in a happy place. So imagine my excitement when she announced her return to the mafia romance scene with a brand new series. This is the first of three books.

BLURB:

One night.
Three lives lost.
Memories, poof, gone.

Everyone blames me—his friends, my best friend—all gone. I can’t remember what happened, but Xaden Devlin does.
He’s the devil wrapped in a beautiful package.
I’m a moth to his flame.
And he’s made it his mission to destroy me.
He’s the heir to the most feared family in town—cold, cruel, and carved from vengeance.
He calls me Tink, a cruel reminder that
“Fairies die when no one believes in them anymore.”
The more he taunts me, the more I see the truth in his eyes…
The truth about that night.
The truth about my family.
And most of all the truth about us.
Maybe the devil isn’t the monster after all.
Maybe I am.

MY REVIEW: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ / 🔥🔥🔥

Morally Black MMC…

Xaden is most definitely on the black side of the moral scale, but just like Toren you won’t be able to pull yourself away. I’m so glad Samantha is diving back into the mafia world with a whole new batch of characters for us to fall for. There was a great mix of mafia and hockey that really hit the spot. This first book in this new series is full of mystery and revenge, secrets and lies, enemies to lovers intensity, loyalty and drawn lines, with a good amount of spice mixed in. And that massive cliffhanger at the end!! Did I scream out loud? Yes, yes I did. It leaves you begging and craving for more. I want… no I NEED book two ASAP!!
